As a Project Manager/Specialist in Chemical Analysis and Instrumentation, you will primarily work with improvements of our existing analytical methods and the development of new methods to meet the needs of our customers. You will contribute with measurements and analysis, technical expertise, and support in delivering data to our customers as well as technical support in the sales and marketing of Studsvik’s products and services.
Typical projects can range in scope from nuclear power plant life extension, and final disposal of spent fuel and radioactive waste, to the evaluation and qualification of new materials. The material investigations and experiments are carried out in our world-leading Hot cell laboratories, where we continuously develop and enhance our advanced testing methods. We are also world-leading in the transport of nuclear material enabling a worldwide customer base. Internationally, we are at the cutting edge of nuclear materials research and development, and we seek to grow our staff to meet our growing business.
Who are you:
We are looking for a motivated and talented person with a genuine interest in instrumentation and “hands-on” method development. A master's or bachelor’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Analysis Engineering, Nuclear Chemistry, Nuclear Materials, Reactor Physics, or a related subject is a requirement, and a Ph.D. in similar is considered meritorious.
A successful applicant should possess theoretical knowledge and documented practical experience in advanced chemical analysis methods such as Gas Mass Spectrometry, ICP-MS, ICP-OES, thermogravimetric methods, x-ray diffraction, and Gamma Spectroscopy. Experience in the analysis of radioactive samples/irradiated materials is highly meriting as well as practical experience with gloveboxes, vacuum, and autoclave systems.
