ValueOne is looking for a Project Purchasing Lead for an assignment at a manufacturing company in Croatia. Our client is a leading Tier-1 automotive supplier at the forefront of battery, powertrain, and control system engineering and development. This is minimum of six months assignment with possibility of extension. You will be expected to travel when required to Croatia and to suppliers.

The role
As a Project Purchasing Lead you will be reporting into the Purchasing Manager/Head of Purchasing. Your role is crucial in this specific project as you will be responsible for managing all purchasing activities and coordinating with various departments to ensure that all materials, components and services required for the project are procured in a timely and cost-effective manner. You will oversee supplier relationships, negotiate contracts and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
You will also:
Develop and implement procurement strategies tailored to project needs.
Create and maintain project procurement plans and schedules.
Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations and address any issues promptly.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to reduce overall project costs.
Prepare regular reports on project procurement status, including budget tracking, supplier performance, and risk assessments.
Manage technical changes on the project and interface with supplier to ensure flawless execution
Experience and competencies
To be successful in this role you will be required to have few years of experience in purchasing, procurement or supply chain management within the automotive industry, preferably at a Tier 1 supplier level. Strong understanding of automotive industry standards and regulations is strongly desired. Proven track record in managing project-specific procurement activities, supplier negotiations and ability to work under pressure. You must be able to communicate in English both verbally and in writing, it is a plus if you can communicate in Croatian. You have bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, engineering or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) or CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) are a plus.
