Scania Purchasing is responsible for the purchase of products and services to all of Scania units worldwide and the team is sourcing sheet metal parts for all projects at Scania.
General Information
We are looking for a Manager for the group Project Purchasing Sheet Metal within the department Powertrain & Chassis. You will be responsible to drive and coordinate purchasing activities in pre-development and development projects for sheet metal parts.
You will be heading a diverse and dedicated team of engaged purchasers with many different nationalities. We have a great team spirit, we believe in a climate where you can be yourself and diversity is a success factor where we treat everybody equally and with respect.
The complete team is located and working from the Scania Purchasing office in Södertälje in a modern work office landscape. Depending on the task, there are project areas, silent rooms and a lounge for a coffee break. Main tasks
As Project Purchasing Manager Sheet metal you and your team are responsible for the project purchasing deliveries within the Product Development projects. One of your main tasks is to secure that Purchasing is involved early in new projects and to ensure the right concepts, suppliers and smooth introductions.
Team responsibilities include keeping track of the project time lines and other purchasing deliverables, such as supplier negotiations, nomination activities and sourcing strategies.
In addition also prepare for cross-functional decision points throughout the projects. The team supports the organization to give the best possible quality regarding estimations of investments in supplier tools, material cost into the projects, as well as monitor and follow up on deviations and changes.
