HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) is a product group in Hitachi Energy, which develops, manufactures and sells DC transmission systems on a global market. HVDC technology is used to transmit electricity over long distances and for power transmission via submarine cables. It is also used to connect power systems.
Hitachi Energy is seeking an EPC Project Quality Manager for our HVDC project business. This role is responsible for planning, organizing, leading, and monitoring all quality work related to the project. Analyze and consider the quality demands of the contract and align them to HVDC’s (High Voltage Direct Current) quality management system. Support and guide the project core team in all quality related issues in the project to support project objective achievement in terms of quality, supplier & subcontractor quality, and customer satisfaction. Coordinate all quality related discussion with the Customer. Flag for and stop execution of project if the quality risks are too high.

Your responsibilities
Tender
Prepare project quality plan, master test plan and other quality documents based on quality system and analysis of specific contractual quality requirements
Register quality risks in the risk register based on analysis and ensure mitigations are identified and follow up
Prepare quality budget proposal on resources and costs for approval
Apply lessons learnt from previous projects and document them for future use
Project Execution
Develop, implement and follow up the quality management system (QMS) for the project in the form of the project quality plan (PQP)
Plan, organize, lead and monitor all quality assurance and control activities in the project based on the PQP
Responsibility for creating, communicating & following up the master ITP register based on input from various functions
Ensure that quality processes are known and followed in the project
Drive Quality culture, Quality Assurance, Quality Control and compliance with local codes & standards, law & regulations on the Project
Ensure that "Lessons Learned" & ToE processes are followed and are fed back to the organization using the business process and tools
Work with quality risks and monitor status and mitigation
Educate organization in quality processes and ensure compliance
Your background
Bachelor’s degree in technical or engineering or quality management and 2 years relevant experience and a minimum 2 years of professional experience related to EPC project-based environment
Good if you have power or energy industry experience
Knowledge in track record and proven capability in Change Management, managing internal project/program in large and complex organization
Experience in process management ideally in project business, preferably in the energy or automation industry, or other quality and process-oriented industries
Capacity to communicate, result oriented, speed in execution, openness and listen to others
English fluency (written and spoken)
Willingness to travel, as needed 10% and more to project construction site and supplier’s location
Good if you have test coordination experience
ISO9001 knowledge a plus, certified auditor a plus
