Who we are?
Volvo Cars has recently established a new Strategic planning function within Program Management & Strategy, Engineering & Operations. The team will be working in close collaboration with the all E&O functional areas as well as in a wider business on product planning, corporate strategy, core strategic projects, and the governance of our strategic affiliates. Strategic planning is a small, dedicated team, that cover the strategic horizon, focusing on business planning for E&O, portfolio management and long term capability planning, responsible for the E&O cycle plan, volumes and capacities. To this team we are looking for a Propulsion Cycle Planning manager who will be responsible for leading the work of Volvo Cars and Polestar* Propulsion Cycle Plan and Propulsion Capacity Plan within Engineering & Operations. We are looking for a person who values teamwork and collaboration across many functions within the company as that will be enablers for creating the best possible executions of our regular deliveries. * For top hats/technologies where Volvo Cars support Polestar with sourcing and/or manufacturing
What will you do?
The Propulsion Cycle Planning manager manager will work on a variety of tasks, primarily related to the cycle plan, volume and capacity strategy, industrial footprint and the vehicle program deliveries, but also to support on other topics within the strategic planning scope. You should expect a dynamic and fast-moving work environment, including activities such as:
Propulsion Cycle Planning:
· Co-ordination of Volvo Cars and Polestar* Propulsion Cycle Plan, both within E&O as well as between E&O and Product Planning and other stakeholders
· Responsible for driving towards a balanced Propulsion CP containing vehicles and power trains, corresponding with the overall E&O goals.
· Support both the documentation and the communication of Propulsion CP content within E&O
· Support on a timeline proposal for each Propulsion CP freeze
· Decide on who shall have access to Propulsion CP material within E&O
Propulsion Capacity Plan:
· Co-ordination of Volvo Cars and Polestar* Propulsion Capacity Plan (PCP) within E&O
· Responsible for driving towards a balanced PCP containing vehicles and power trains, corresponding with the overall E&O goals.
· Documentation and communication of PCP content within E&O
· Support on a timeline proposal for each PCP freeze
· Decide on who shall have access to PCP material within E&O
· Collect and analyse the key drivers, volume/capacity dynamics and issues.
· Lead and plan tactics for industrial prerequisites according to defined strategies and frameworks.
Do you fit the profile?
To succeed in this role, we see that you have a B.Sc. degree within relevant area or equivalent experience from the propulsion and/or industrial business area, for example through years of practice. We are looking for a person with a strategic and analytical approach, who has both leadership and data management skills with a great interest in the future car development, industrial trends and business acumen.
You enjoy interacting with people at all levels and functions, are comfortable in working across organizations with a focused mindset.
Impact and company results are what matters, you have analytical and logical skills with a passion for accuracy in numbers, are eager to learn new things, and quickly grasp the essence of complex problems from comprehensive data.
You are focused and committed to quality on input and output and enjoy identifying improvement areas and embrace change, meet deadlines and are fine to work under time pressure from time to time.
You see what needs to be done and do not wait for someone to tell you so.
You probably have experience from the finance, commercial and/or industrial business area.
