At Research & Development you will be a key contributor to the next generation of luxury cars from Volvo. The Agile team Propulsion Systems (PS) is part of the ToT Personal Driving eXperience Center (PDXC) within Product Creation at Volvo Car Group. The PDXC has the responsibility to ensure that the attributes Driving Dynamics and Noise and Vibration and Solidity is supported in the vehicle programmes, both in terms of customer and legal requirements. Within PS NVH we have the responsibility for our attributes, for engine, ICE and EPS, EM, ERAD/EFAD, and driveline and their integration in the vehicle. The team works integrated in all project phases, from AE to vehicle/engine production start, and with field and quality issues, contributing with analysis and guidelines to improve our attributes in our cars. We work with testing and analysis of engines, e-motors, transmissions, drivelines and their integration in the complete vehicle where the effect on car occupants is evaluated. PS NVH works with state-of-the-art equipment, engine and chassis dynamometers. We have extensive communication with other internal design areas, suppliers and our development centre in Shanghai.
As a 1st Analysis Engineer you will be a part of the team to develop the next generation of electric drive lines and vehicles, specifically we are seeking competence in transmission NVH. Both experienced and newly graduated people with an engineering degree and the right personal qualities are welcome to apply.
Main responsibilities
• Perform NVH vehicle and powertrain measurements and analysis on test track or in electric machine, EFAD, ERAD and vehicle test cells
• Instrument and prepare test objects with transducers
• Perform analysis of measured data and propose solutions and counter-measures
• Participate in implementation of solutions in the vehicle/engine/driveline
• Participate in the development of improved or new methods and guidelines
Required qualifications
• M.Sc. or equivalent work experience
• Mechanical Engineering, Technical Acoustics, Engineering Physics or similar
