At Mojang we are building a brand new team to primarily develop new concepts and prototypes for future Minecraft spinoff games. As a Prototype developer, you’ll work closely with stakeholders to make new ideas come to life. You’ll be responsible for rapid early stage prototyping, iteration and scripting of incoming concepts. Together with the prototype team, you’ll self organize, plan and execute the prototyping process and workflows. A key part is to interpret and translate concepts to fun features and functional prototypes. Further on, this role includes contribution of creative ideas and picking the right tech for specific tasks.
This role is for someone who has a passion for testing new game ideas, and don’t necessarily have to be part of the implementation and/or shipping of games.
Requirements
Proven game development experience on multiple games
Proven experience of game feature development from start to finish
Strong programming and/or scripting skills
Proficient in one or more modern game engines (Unreal, Unity etc.)
To succeed in this role we believe you have great written and verbal communication skills, since you will be responsible for documenting and communicating design and tech related decisions of the development process towards stakeholders. You have a growth mindset and embrace killing your darlings. Further on, you are a self organized teamplayer since you, together with a small team, will own the process from concept to handover for evaluation.
