Join IKEA’s logistics and fulfilment focused innovation team as a Prototype Engineering Leader to establish the future of logistics for IKEA.
JOB DESCRIPTION – HOW?
As an Prototype Engineering Leader you will be part of a team of 10 people dedicated to innovation in IKEA’s larger, development and innovation focused own internal consulting organization: Intralogistics in Supply Chain Development.
As a Prototype Engineering Leader you will be responsible for:
Responsible for leading the development of more efficient technical and logistics solutions in the storage and handling process
Responsible for lead, coordinate and hold together the prototyping process end to end
Responsible for contribution towards the intralogistics innovation tactical plan and development roadmap
Responsible for being the bridge between ideas and practical solutions based on ideas, sketches, and drawings to secure the function of the logistics solution
QUALIFICATIONS – WHO?
Innovation is a mindset more than a list of tasks. As a leader for the prototyping process, you need to:
be open to change, embrace change and be able to lead change
be willing and able to challenge reality with critical thinking, in a constructive and structured way
have be able to deconstruct larger systems, topics, problems into parts and reconstruct
be able to see a structure where nothing is apparent
design under constraints
have the courage and ability to speak up and be proactive
As we are a logistics and fulfilment focused engineering team, you will have a higher chance to succeed if you have:
have an educational background and strong track record in engineering (mechanical/electrical)
high proficiency with SolidWorks
experience with next generation engineering environments (e.g. digital twins, simulations)
have proven experience in innovation focused environment
experience with “leading in the unknown”
experience with project management and facilitation of work for large groups
