Northvolt is right now looking for a Prototype Technician, belonging to the System Test Team in the Battery Systems Engineering Group. In joining us you will play an important part in developing the new generation of world-class battery systems.
Northvolt will play a key role in the transformation to a carbon free society.
You will be responsible for building prototypes, cable harnesses, and custom test equipment, as well as operating and troubleshooting test systems. When the customer is stopped in need of a spare part, when the test team urgently need a cable to finish a critical test setup, you will be our only hope and if you make it, our hero!
In this role, you will need to be very resourceful and able to work independently. You will also need to be creative with resources, especially time, as it be very limited to save the day. As we are a fast-growing company, you also have the opportunity to create your own workspace with your own tools to achieve your mission.

Key Responsibilities:

Manufacture prototype electrical systems for our battery trials and tests, including electrical cabinets, test rigs and harnesses.

Assist in preparation and execution of electrical, mechanical and thermal tests.

In collaboration with the Quality and Engineering teams, ensure manufactured prototypes are according to standards and specifications.

Secure and set up work area, including tools, equipment and a stock of standard components, in collaboration with the manufacturing team, to proceed to the above work

Build own network of supply partners, with the help of our Supply Chain, to secure quickly components for prototype build

Intervene at 3rd party locations, such as suppliers, customer or test facility, to help fix and set up electrical systems
- 2+ years in electronics prototyping or manufacturing with proven hands-on experience
- Technical education in electronics/electrical field (engineering degree not required)
- Experience with reading electronics schematics and layout.
- Experience with SMD component soldering and rework is a plus

High voltage training and safety awareness a big plus.

Good English, both written and oral. Swedish is a plus.

Open to travel, sometimes at short notice, mostly in Sweden, possibly in Poland
