Our first aircraft is the ES-19, a nineteen-passenger airliner with an operating range of 400 km. The ES-19 is a fully electric aircraft, and our goal is to have the aircraft certified for commercial operation by 2026.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Prototyping Engineer to join our Advanced Prototyping Team. You will be working in a small and very multidisciplinary team involved in a broad range of prototyping activities. The person we are looking for is highly proficient and passionate about CAD, CAM and CNC, and also enjoys “hands-on” work. Additionally, you enjoy taking on difficult challenges and finding innovative solutions, you readily adapt to change, and you are motivated and driven to continually learn and improve.

Your responsibilities will be to:

Develop solutions for rapid prototyping of parts

-
Generate CAD designs of prototyping parts and assemblies

-
Perform structural sizing of components

-
Perform CNC programming and operation of CNC machines

-
Support colleagues working in the workshop and hangar

-
Support the execution of tests


Qualifications & Experience:

-
Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university

-
Proficiency in CAD software, preferably Solidworks and Catia v5

-
Good knowledge of CAM and CNC programming

-
Minimum 5 years of related work experience

-
Experience with stress analysis and finite element method

-
Good understanding of aircraft production and assembly methods and processes.

-
A start-up mindset and self-motivation are very important

-
Excellent verbal & written communication skills in English

-
Eagerness to work with others

Passion for aircraft and Heart’s mission


The ideal candidate would have:

Experience in aircraft conceptual and preliminary design phases, and also aircraft electrification

Graphical rendering

-
Metal working (Machining, Welding, Sheet Metal)

Wood working

-
3D Printing

-
Composite materials
