PU Director for Inserts Manufacturing

Sandvik Coromant in Gimo, with approximately 1600 employees, is a world leader in the area of cemented carbide blades and tools for the drilling, milling and turning of metal. We are looking for a PU Director for Inserts, for the GH inserts manufacturing. The unit has about 900 employees and manufactures, primarily, standard inserts, with global responsibility for inserts' development of production techniques (Production Technology Centre).

Key performance areas
As a PU Director you are responsible for the unit?s operational goals, finances, safety, environment, quality and business and technical development. You will also manage and have responsibility for staff, with six co-workers reporting directly to you. You report to the Inserts Global Production Director, located in Gimo, Sweden and will be part of the global management team for Inserts. In addition you will be a member of the Site Management Team in Gimo. You act as a role model and interact with an open mind, showing good general and people management skills in line with Sandvik leadership standards and expectations.

The position involves traveling.

Your profile
We are looking for someone with several years' experience of personnel and operations leadership, with relevant education. University studies or equivalent experience are advantageous, as is experience of a production oriented business and working in a management team. You have a strong interest in inspiring operational excellence and a proven track record in waste reduction and efficiency improvement.

We expect that you are perceptive and believe in creative, supportive and contextualized leadership and also believe in developing your co-workers, the business and yourself. Furthermore, you have strong leadership skills: you are perceptive, can create a trusting cooperation in a natural manner and can also inspire and motivate your co-workers to create team spirit and enthusiasm for reaching the business goals. You also have good communication skills and are result oriented and highly motivated. The position also demands a strategic holistic view.
