Job description

You will be responsible for leading the work of developing and implementing local public governmental affairs strategies. The purpose of the Government & Public Affairs Lead is to develop and execute local public governmental affairs strategies, safeguard the company's reputation and influence policies and regulations through interaction with government officials, civil servants and other healthcare decision makers and authorities. The Government & Public Affairs Lead collaborates extensively with other Department Leads across the Nordics and within their local country to ensure adequate funding and patient access as well as a sustainable pharmaceutical market for innovation in the future.

Responsibilities


Develop governmental affairs and patient engagement strategies and tactics and recommend specific actions to the local country management board. 
Oversee corporate communication and crisis management as well as therapeutic areas and brand communication in close alignment with EMEA MSM Communication and Public Affairs Leaders.
Analyze the political, social and economic environment, monitor legislative frameworks and make impact analyses
Coordinate and align, in collaboration with Regional Access Manager, national and regional government official initiatives across the country.
Establish and develop effective relationships with selected government officials – Ministry of Health, parliament and national civil servants as well as other health care decision-makers or bodies that influence healthcare or other relevant players within healthcare.
Ensure therapeutic area support through projects or activities developed in conjunction with other functions of the company and commercial department in order to maximize the use of innovative therapies.
Collaborate with other functions, such as market access and medical affairs, to drive funding and access development.
Contribute to internal knowledge and best-practice sharing and lead external involvement with pharma associations and other relevant groups by strategically positioning the Company  on health topics.
Act as the Chairman of the Country Crisis Management Team and be the local spokesperson reporting into the Nordic Crisis Team during a crisis. 
Enhance the use of multi-channel communication






Qualifications
Master’s degree or equivalent
7-10 years of work experience in comparable roles preferred
A minimum of 5 years of healthcare, pharmaceutical or similar industry experience required
Experience with people leadership and talent development responsibility required
Experience with budget responsibility required
Strong skills in Microsoft Office required
High proficiency in spoken and written English required

It is essential to have good interpersonal, communication, decision-making and leadership skills for interaction with external and internal customers and partners. It is required that you have experience with people leadership and talent development responsibility. Seeing the big picture whilst also being strongly analytical and with eye for details as needed is very important. English language is required, both spoken and in writing.
