Public affairs, strategic partnerships and nurturing our relations with important stakeholders are key elements, among several, for a successful realization of the ongoing transformation.
The role
We are now recruiting a new talented and passionate colleague who can contribute and lead the advancement of our public affairs and partnerships capabilities. Focus will be on partnership activation within our electrification and sustainable transport journey. We are now looking for a Public Affairs Manager Strategic Partnerships to join our team on Group function level. You are to be regarded as our trusted policy expert within relevant policy areas. You will coordinate and develop existing strategic policy partnerships, as well as suggest and initiate new ones. You need to be able to form strong relationships and collaborate closely with both internal partners across the organization, but also with external partners, in Sweden, EU and globally. You will be Scania´s external point of contact in these partnerships.
You will be part of the Public Affairs team of five people in Södertälje, plus a team based in Brussels, led by the Head of Public Affairs & Partnerships. This function is centrally placed within the HQ Communications department.
Core responsibilities include:
• Coordinate and evaluate Scania’s current strategic policy partnerships; activate and develop activity plans within the partnerships, and initiate new partnerships where needed
• Work closely with other functions in the organisation responsible for commercial and industrial partnerships, in order to align, support and strengthen Scania’s joint political messaging
• Act as project manager and project lead for select partnerships and be able to activate relevant parts of Scania in the partnerships
• Build and maintain extensive networks, both internally Scania and externally
• Support Scania in creating the right preconditions to succeed in driving the shift to renewable fuels and electrification through advocacy work in Sweden and the EU
• Monitor and analyse the impact for Scania regarding policy development on sustainable transport, energy policy and sustainability policy, with special focus on efficient logistics, biofuels & electrification, in Sweden, EU and to some extent globally
• Assess and disseminate knowledge about sustainable transport in internal networks, with a special focus on renewable energy for road transport and assess opportunities and consequences
• Prepare comprehensive briefs and give strategic advice to colleagues within the organization
Your profile
You have an entrepreneurial spirit and are a highly valued team player and an excellent communicator in your area of expertise. You are structured, proactive, and have experience in policy work and project management. You are a self-motivated and creative person with analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities.
You should have a both strategic and tactical mindset, be able to build strong relationships internally as well as externally. We expect you to have experience of industry policy work from for example the political/governmental side or similar (lobby or industry organization) and be well oriented in both the Swedish and the EU political landscape. It is seen as positive if you have international experience, and proven experience in creating and maintaining strategic partnerships.
Education
• You have a Master’s degree or equivalent
• 10+ years of working experience
• Professional proficiency in English, spoken and written is required
