The impact on business from international and domestic policy related to sustainability increase continuously. This create both opportunities and challenges for Stora Enso. The growing focus on sustainable forestry – including biodiversity is a good example of this and of high importance to us given our high sustainability ambitions. Several other policy areas are highly important to Stora Ensos business. For instance, circular economy (including packaging, plastics, construction and textiles) and climate change. For all these topics forests, forestry and products therefrom is part of the solution to the societal challenges addressed through policy. Stora Enso wants to be recognized as an active and constructive player in these policy discussions.
With this in mind, being active and updated in the development of policy and legislation on EU level and individual countries is instrumental to understand impact on the markets. We want to strengthen our ability to review, impact and act in this field with a Public Affairs Manager to focus especially on sustainable forestry and circular economy.
Your tasks will include:
· Scanning for upcoming policy developments and activities of relevance to Stora Enso and feedback to relevant internal staff
· Prepare policy documents, responses to consultative documents and review material ahead of national and international trade organization meetings
· Provide public affairs support to business divisions
· Propose appropriate tactics to engage in prioritised political processes
· Support execution of lobbying activities, such as design contact program to develop relationship with key decision-makers
· Prepare high-quality communication materials
· Support in the internal coordination in policy related issues
You will work from our Stockholm office.

Qualifications
In order to succeed in this role, you have a relevant university degree in for instance political science, law or communications combined with a few years’ experience in a public affairs role. You have worked with EU Institutions and the EU political system and processes and feel comfortable navigating in the area. You should also be familiar with Finnish and Swedish politics. It is an asset if you have experience working with sustainability and forest related topics.
Your working language will be English, and you should have excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills in English, skills in Swedish are considered a plus. In addition to your experience we put high emphasis on your personal qualities. The work is very independent, and we expect you to take initiative both when working on your own and in team efforts. Since you are following the progress and development of your environment you must be able to learn complex topics quickly and translate these to approachable content. You can connect and communicate with people working in different roles with various backgrounds. You have willingness to adapt to changes and flexibility in your ways of working as well as to travel within Europe.
