Do you have deep understanding of policy landscapes and what it takes to be in dialogue with policy makers? If this sounds appealing, Public Affairs Specialist for H&M Group might be your next challenge.
The central Public Affairs team is a small team with strong competence who sets tools, positions and working methods as well as overarching strategies for the H&M Group. We deliberately support the H&M Group’s functions, business models and markets by influencing policy makers to set effective laws and policies. We interact directly with governments and we work through collaborations.
Job Description
As Public Affairs Specialist with focus on Climate, Circularity and Biodiversity, your main responsibilities are, together with the internal business experts in these fields, to monitor the global political agenda, do analysis of existing and upcoming legislations, set the Group positions and the strategies to influence. This includes proactive and reactive engagement and communications on position papers, legislative proposals, government consultations and other strategic political developments. You synchronize between our internal departments and regions, both in retail and production. You engage effectively and work in partnership with both internal business experts, engagement leads and other internal stakeholders, as well as policy makers and other relevant external stakeholders. You are a spokesperson for H&M Group. As part of the Public Affairs team, you also create and contribute to Public Affairs tools and ways of working, including internal knowledge sharing such as newsletters, webinars, reporting, website, trainings, and others. Key responsibilities include:
Monitor the global political agenda, do analysis of existing and upcoming legislations
Set the Group’s position on the topics responsible for
Set and drive the strategies to influence
Synchronize between our internal departments, regions, both retail and production.
Engage with external stakeholders
Be a spokesperson for H&M Group
Create and contribute to Public Affairs tools and ways of working
Qualifications
We are looking for a self-motivated person with a curious mindset. You are prestige less, pragmatic, and easily build trust and extend your network. You are strategic and business minded. You are accurate, have a flexible, diplomatic and structured approach as well as straight forward way of communicating. You are a true team player and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You can work through ambiguity, in a challenging sector and demonstrate leadership and analytical skills as well as impact through clear actions. Besides your personality we see that you have:
8 – 10 years of experience with Public Affairs, Corporate Communications or Stakeholder Engagement.
A background in Politics, Law, Communications, or any related field is desired.
Previous experience in working for a think tank, NGOs or highly regulated industry is beneficial
A good understanding of Climate, Circularity and Biodiversity
Proven record of public speaking
Proven record of project managing with experience from large and complex cross-functional projects with international dimension
Excellent communication and writing skills in English
Proven record of creating condensed and visually appealing summaries and presentations
