The West Atlantic Group is one of the markets leading providers of dedicated airfreight service to European National Mail Organisations and airfreight capacity to Global Integrators and freight forwarders. In year 2020 West Atlantic Group merged with SwiftAir, Spain. The merged Group has a well-established geographic network and operate a customised aircraft fleet of 85+ aircraft, which includes the British Aerospace ATP, ATR-42/72, Bombardier CRJ 200 PF, Embraer 120F, Boeing 737-300 / 400/ 800 and Boeing 757. West Atlantic was founded in 1962 and it’s headquartered in office buildings at Malmö Airport, Sweden. Operation is performed all over Europe with a staff around 650+ employees. West Atlantic and SwiftAir aircrafts supported by the Central Logistics Team mainly functioning from Malmo/Sturup in Sweden and Madrid in Spain.
West Atlantic is looking for a Purchase Order Controller in Malmö/Sturup, who wants to work in a corporate culture that is characterised by cooperation and team spirit. Our flights are an important link in the daily mail and parcel handling for priority deliveries within Europe. As a Purchase Order Controller, you process aircraft spare parts requirements initiated by the Part M and Part 145 Maintenance to keep the aircrafts fully operational and ready 24/7 with the highest level of quality by applying the proper airworthiness instructions, limiting, and reducing unnecessary charges. The Purchase Order Controller will interpret West Atlantic & SwiftAir Group policies and procedures as well as regulatory requirements and develop plans to the tasks associated with this position.
Responsibilities
• Perform purchasing/repairing functions as required to ensure high valued/sophisticated aircraft spares parts are procured for maintenance of aircraft.
• Exploring of spare part vendors/repair shops in the open market.
• Process warranty claims between company and vendors/manufacturers.
• Source for aircraft parts in the market by processing RFQs and exploring websites.
• Carry out the quotations comparison, effective negotiation and make recommendation to the Supply Chain Manager for selection of best offer.
• Review MIN stock level quantities of stock in all the stock locations on regular basis and take procurement actions to top up the MIN level at all the time.
Academic/Educational Requirements
• Graduation or Equivalent education in Logistics/Supply Chain.
Required Skills/Experience/knowledge:
• 1-2 years of working experience in MRO based ERP software (aircraft Maintenance work order/ tracking / Inventory / Logistics modules).
• Quick sourcing ability and effective negotiation skills.
• Working knowledge of (domestic and international) shipping regulations.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite of products including Excel.
• Be familiar with purchasing/repairing processes, shipping and receiving as well as warranty administration.
• Fluent in English both oral and written
We need you to hit the ground running, so below listed prior experiences are highly preferred:
• Working knowledge in logistics module of Envision and eMRO (TRAX).
• Knowledge to evaluate and make recommendation to elect a best quotation.
• Working experience on procuring of aviation spare parts, knowledge about aviation supplies and the market.
The job requires on-site presence, so you need have a driving license and access to a car.
