The group Indirect Purchasing is responsible for the purchasing of all non-production materials and services to all our staff and plants. We are now looking for a new Purchaser to the Maintenance Repair Operations Europe team. The Maintenance Repair Operations Europe team consists of seven Purchasers with the mission to purchase maintenance, spare parts/equipment, services, chemicals and replacements with quality to best price and with the most favourable commercial setup. We work closely together with the Maintenance and Inventory and Manufacturing Engineering.

This Purchaser role within Maintenance Repair Operations focuses on spare parts towards our car plants for the areas, heavy machinery and equipment, service and repairs and all replacement and complementary buys for special dealer tools. You will be an important part of creating and maintaining our strategic business plan within the spare parts area as well as identifying new opportunities and securing best practice within the area. You will also cooperate with the Indirect Purchasing buyers in China and USA to some extent. The supply base is global though a majority are situated in Europe your main stake holder will be our inventories as well as Volvo Cars. It is important that you have a good commercial sense and holistic understanding.

Main responsibilities

* Find the best commercial outcome for Volvo Car Group specific to your commodities
* Work for constant improvement and increase of efficiency in accordance to Volvo Car Corporation's overall strategies
* Support Strategic Buyer within the Commodity Business Plan on assigned commodities, including implementation and follow-up
* Develop relationships with key suppliers to ensure best pricing, quality and delivery
* Ensure the market intelligence and the technical trends for concerned commodities
* Validate new supplier introduction within your commodities
* Perform procurement according to defined strategies and frameworks
* Negotiate and sign agreements
* Lead special task force assignments

Required qualifications

* Economic or Technical university degree or equivalent
* Experience from negotiations in with focus on commercial targets
* Fluent in English, written and spoken
* Driver's license, B-level
* Technical interest, knowledge and understanding is an asset
* Experience from working within the automotive industry is meritorious
