Who are we?
The Purchasing team, Cab Interior, purchases parts and components used in Scania trucks and buses manufactured in our global production system. We are currently in an intensive period with a lot of initiatives and challenges in the supply chain, many of them carried out together with our colleagues within the TRATON group. Therefore we are searching for a committed, collaborative team member, a person who has the desire to drive the shift together with our team.
The Cab Interior team has great people, an open atmosphere, good knowledge transfer, and always helps each other out. The group consists of eight purchasers with different backgrounds, nationalities, genders, and experiences. The team is responsible for purchasing Cab components and Plastic parts. In our daily work, we participate in and have the possibility to influence Scania’s journey to drive the shift towards a sustainable transport system.
Responsibilities
In your role as a commodity buyer, you will be working closely with and supporting the material group owners in realizing the strategies for the material group. You will support with operative and administrative tasks as well as taking on your own assignments aimed towards our goals of deliveries in time to the right cost and the right quality and developing the suppliers towards our sustainability goals.
We can also provide development opportunities within the role, for example by taking on more complex cases and negotiation cases. You will have many cross-functional interfaces towards for example R&D and production, as well as with suppliers.
Who are you?
You are a person with commercial interest and a passion for doing business while staying close to the technology. You are analytical, structured, take own initiatives and are able to handle multiple things at the same time. You are used to handle large amount of data in Excel, as part of your analysis, as well as learning and using multiple systems needed to perform your work tasks.
You are good at maintaining relationships and like to represent purchasing in cross functions as well as towards suppliers in a professional way. You are also self-driven with high integrity and contribute to the development of the team.
We expect you to have an academic degree in industrial engineering, business or similar. You might have worked a period of time in a business-to-business environment, but most important is your ambition and willingness to learn.
As the role involves communication with global suppliers and the language used in the team is English, you are fluent in writing and speaking English.
