Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

Do you want to work as a purchaser in a dynamic, commercial and international environment with a high tempo and great development possibilities?

The Purchasing team, High-Voltage propulsion components, purchases parts and components used in Electrified Vehicles manufactured in our global truck and bus production system. We are currently in an intensive period with a lot of new projects, many of them carried out together with our colleagues within the TRATON group. Therefore we are expanding the team and are now looking for a new committed team member interested in business and new technologies within the Electrification area.

The team

The High-Voltage propulsion components team has an open atmosphere, good knowledge transfer and always help each other out. The group consists of six purchasers with different backgrounds, nationality, genders and experience. The team is responsible for purchasing of High-voltage Batteries, eMachines, Power Electronics and Electric Power transmissions. In our daily work we participate in and have the possibility to influence Scania’s journey to drive the shift towards a sustainable transport system.

Responsibilities

As a Purchaser in our team you will be responsible for optimisation of technology, quality, delivery and cost for components within new projects. You take an active role in both pre-development as well as industrialisation projects to find the best technical and commercial solution for Scania.

Focus is on challenging and improve design together with R&D and suppliers to ensure implementation of your components in production while meeting the project targets. You lead the discussion with suppliers all the way from concept development until the start of production and also further on, through the component´s entire lifecycle. You play a key role in supplier scouting, request for quotations, technical discussions, cost analysis, nomination of suppliers as well as in implementation.

The work gives a great opportunity to get in touch with new technology and while working in new projects you get also the opportunity to work cross functionally together with representatives from Quality, R&D, Production and After Sales among others.

You


• You are an engineer or business graduate with at least 5 years’ experience from purchasing/sales or engineering working with supplier developed components.
• You have a commercial interest, are result oriented, have strong ability to take initiative, are able to handle multiple open cases and have the ability to look ahead and think strategically.
• You are good at maintaining relationships and enjoy having many contacts, both internally and externally.
• As the role involves a large international network and travel, you will need to be proficient in both written and spoken English. Swedish is an advantage as well as other language skills.
