Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

Scania Purchasing is responsible for the purchase of products and services to all of Scania units worldwide and the team is sourcing sheet metal parts for all projects at Scania.

General Information

We are looking for a Purchaser for the group Project Purchasing Metal & Pipes within the department Powertrain & Chassis. You will be responsible to run purchasing activities in pre-development and development projects for metal parts.

You will be part of a diverse and dedicated team of engaged purchasers with many different nationalities. We have a great team spirit, we believe in a climate where you can be yourself and diversity is a success factor where we treat everybody equally and with respect.

The complete team is located and working from the Scania Purchasing office in Södertälje in a modern work office landscape. Depending on the task, there are project areas, silent rooms and a lounge for a coffee break. There is also the possibility to work from home some days of the week thanks to the modern remote work system.

Responsibilities

As Project Purchaser or as we call it, Sourcing Manager, you are responsible for the project purchasing deliveries within the Product Development projects.

Your responsibilities include:


• Keeping track of the project timelines and other purchasing deliverables
• Supplier negotiations
• Nomination activities
• Sourcing strategies
• Cross-functional decision points throughout the projects. The team supports the organization to give the best possible quality regarding estimations of investments in supplier tools, and material costs into the projects, as well as monitor and follow up on deviations and changes.

Your profile

We believe that you are passionate about the work as a purchaser and that you have previous experience from it or from a related business area as well as a university degree. If you have previous experience from purchase of Metal Parts or worked in an automotive purchasing organization is an advantage.

We are looking for a person with a true commercial drive and a strategic mindset, with a good ability to develop and maintain a broad network of contacts both internally and externally and who dares to challenge the current way of working.

You are well organized, enjoy a fast tempo, and can manage short-term actions without losing focus on achieving long-term objectives.
To thrive with us, we think you are a humble and solution-oriented team player. You need to be responsible, driven, and have a positive attitude. You should also be able to independently plan your work to ensure good delivery precision.
