Purchasing compliance business developers within Scania are responsible for securing and supporting the organization by making our products compliant with laws and regulations.

As a business developer within purchasing, you will be a key player when it comes to shaping the future of Scania’s supply chain strategy. We offer a job in an international environment with multiple contact surfaces, both internally and externally. Purchasing has an impact on almost all of Scania’s core processes including R&D, sales & marketing, and production & logistics.

As Business Developer you are part of a team of motivated and curious developers who works to find the best alternatives to tackle the challenges that come from new laws and regulations at the same time the challenges we set on ourselves to become an organization that acts beyond compliance.

Your work assignment

You will challenge and improve the current way of working by developing and implementing new processes, systems, tools, and methods. In this role, you will provide knowledge and support to the purchasing organization to develop future processes, systems, tools, and methods within the compliance responsibilities of Export Control, Cyber Security, and Data Privacy.

Together with the rest of the team, you will be responsible for supporting the Purchasing organization and our suppliers in compliance matters. Your main tasks will be to run our supplier screening, part classification, risk assessment, follow-up, and risk mitigation.

You will work with a cross-functional team, with the main goal of finding solutions to a wide range of challenges – from risk assessments performed by ourselves or the effects of globalization where new laws and regulations play an important role. Additionally, an important part of the job is to develop our way of working to increase efficiency and value.

You will work closely with purchasing colleagues globally within the Volkswagen group and you will have frequent interactions with our central compliance functions at Scania.

Your profile

We are looking for a business developer candidate with great interest in risk & compliance who believes in Scania's core values and is a team player, eager to solve problems, and has a passion for improving the world around you. You are creative and innovative. You have good communicative skills and are good at creating and maintaining well-functioning business relationships. You are confident and enjoy working in a diverse environment. 


• Experience and/or knowledge within risk & compliance, in special connected to supply chain
• Academic degree within engineering, business economics, or law.
• Presentation skills and ability to express yourself in a clear and respectful way
• Proven record of ability to work cross-functionally
• Ability to fluently communicate in English, both written and spoken.
