Northvolt Battery Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Purchasing Manager to join our passionate team in Stockholm. The Purchasing Manager will be in charge of developing and managing a set of suppliers, supporting and collaborating closely with stakeholders in Business development, Engineering, Manufacturing (Gdansk), Quality, Legal and Finance.
Battery Systems is a department at Northvolt that designs and produces high performance modular battery products and solutions to customers in the Industrial, ESS and Automotive business segments. The headquarter and prototype labs is located in Stockholm and production is in Gdansk, Poland.
Battery Systems collaborate closely with the rest of Northvolt around integrated concepts (cell-module) and Automation on traceability, connectivity and factory automation​. Our mission is to help, build and develop a world-class supply base, develop category strategies and the panels for the different sourcing activities, recommend the suppliers and the plans for new projects and drive supplier optimization related to cost, quality and reliability.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to
In tight collaboration with the Engineering Manager team and other internal functions, develop a supply base that fits Northvolt’s need in terms of technology, quality, reliability, cost competitiveness, capacity, security of supply and match to company values
Support various ongoing projects (product and/or customer) to ensure project needs and timelines are met in best possible way
Represent the company towards suppliers
Evaluate suppliers’ capabilities and performance versus targets
Negotiate best possible contractual conditions with suppliers to help achieve best in class competitiveness of Northvolt, including localization in Europe
Seek and implement all possible purchasing synergies

Skills & Requirements
Education/Experience
You hold a master’s degree in Engineering or Supply Chain field, or equivalent
Preferably you have 4+ years experience as Sourcing Manager of direct materials from an industrial setting
Specific experience from working with sourcing and suppliers in one or several of the following domains: Electromechanical, Mechanical, and BMS
Experience from working with different production methods is valuable, including metal and plastic material knowledge
