We are looking for a experienced Purchasing Manager to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. The role is a part of our passionate Supply Chain team based in Stockholm. By joining us, you will be a key player in establishing the supply chain and partnerships needed to support scaling our System factory in Poland.
About the job
The role will lead the purchasing interface to the program and will be in charge of developing and managing a set of suppliers and categories, supporting and collaborating closely with stakeholders in Product Management, Business development, Engineering, Manufacturing (Gdansk), Quality, Legal and Finance.
About the team
You will be part of the core purchasing team for battery systems and will define the category strategies and lead program purchasing role as needed. The position is based in Stockholm, Sweden. We are an international mix of individuals that believe that our mix is making us successful, and we support each other both during and after business hours.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
In tight collaboration with the Product Manager / Engineering Manager team and other internal functions, develop a supply base that fits Northvolt’s need in terms of technology, quality, reliability, cost competitiveness, capacity, security of supply and match to company values
Support various ongoing projects (product and/or customer) to ensure project needs and timelines are met in best possible way
Represent the company towards suppliers
Evaluate suppliers’ capabilities and performance versus targets
Negotiate best possible contractual conditions with suppliers to help achieve best in class competitiveness of Northvolt, including localization in Europe
Seek and implement all possible purchasing synergies

Skills & Requirements
We believe that you have :
A master’s degree in Engineering or Supply Chain field, or equivalent
A minimum 5+ years experience working with project purchasing, power electronics, electro-mechanical components, etc.
Project management experience working with new product introductions and supplier development
Excellent English written and oral skills
Bonus points for:
Experience and interest in manufacturing industry
Fluency in other languages (Japanese, Swedish, Chinese, French, German)
Experience from a multi-cultural environment
