This is us:
Indirect Products and Services (IPS) is a global organization within GTP representing a yearly purchased spend of 43 BSEK. The team is responsible for Investments, IT, Professional Service & Travel, Product & Operation Services.


We are now looking for a colleague in the IPS Professional Services and Travel team, who would like to join our dynamic and goal oriented team. Travel and HR Services team is part of the IPS Professional services and Travel purchasing team. The team consists of 9 buyers, whereof 7 are located in Gothenburg and 2 in Lyon.


In this position, you will report to the Vice President IPS Professional services and Travel.

The role description:
As Manager of the Travel and HR team, you are coaching and leading a continental team of 9 highly qualified purchasing professionals. They are managing the purchasing of everything related to Airtravel, Hotels, Competence development, Company Cars, Mobility, Recruitment, Health and HR services. Several buyers in the team have a global responsibility for their segment.
You drive performance with your continental team from a Quality, Delivery, Cost, Features, Technology, Sustainability and Risk perspective. You also promote and ensure a strong collaboration between buyers within the commodity globally, thereby capitalizing on inputs towards segment strategies, negotiation tactics and leveraging other possible opportunities.


Main Responsibilities
Be a member of IPS Professional Services and Travel Purchasing leadership team and in an active way contribute to the development of the department
Coaching a team of 9 Buyers and facilitating the team-members development individually and collectively
Secure needed communication with cross functional teams
Secure and manage resources within your area. Ensure effective performance management: set objectives, provide coaching and feedback and define individual development needs
Responsible for budget & operating expenses
Responsible for cost targets and KPI fulfillment of the team
Work in accordance with the Volvo processes, the Code of Conduct and the Volvo Values

Competence & Experience
University degree in Engineering/Technology/ IT /or Business Administration
Management experience in an international environment
Strong and inspiring Leadership skills
Deep understanding of Purchasing
High level of integrity and trust
Interested in business trends and technology
Ability to handle uncertainty and hold things together during tough times
Ability to create networks and to lead cross-functional activities within multi-cultural teams
Ability to build an effective team with a common objective, strong morale and spirit
A people development mindset with drive and energy for problem solving and change
