PYP teacher at the International School of Älmhult

ARBETSUPPGIFTER
The International School of Älmhult has grown rapidly since it opened in 2000 and has a current population of over 135 students. Situated in Älmhult in southern Sweden it is a state school with support from Ikea of Sweden for the teacher`s professional development. The local area, which has a population of approx. 16 000, is peaceful and situated in an attractive area with nearby lakes and forests. The provincial town of Växjö is easily reached by either rail or road, as are other large cities in the region and the Continent. The school was authorised for The International Baccalaureate`s Primary Years Programme in May 2003 and for The Middle Years Programme in May 2009. The school is international and has a friendly atmosphere. The classes are small and all teaching is in English.

The tasks for this post will be to:
- be responsible for teaching a PYP class
- to undertake all teaching responsibilities as outlined by IBO and the school.
- attend all meetings.
- complete documentation as required.


KVALIFIKATIONER
The successful applicant will:
- need a high level of education.
- must have experience with IBO.
- have attended IBO courses.
- have teaching qualifications.
- have teaching experience.
- have excellent spoken and written English.
- have worked with differentiation.
- have worked with phonographix.
- be an excellent, flexible, effective communicator.
- need to respond to the needs of a changing team within a changing workplace.
- must be excited by the development of the school and need to part in the continued development of systems and protocols that will ensure the smooth running of the school.
- need independent thinking to make good decisions throughout the process of change
