Description of Position:
Karlskrona Internationella Grundskola is an IB Candidate school located in Karlskrona, Sweden. The school offers both the PYP and MYP programmes and we are now on our third year of operation. As the classes start to grow, we are now seeking professional and passionate PYP teachers who wish to be a part of the continued development of an IB-school in Karlskrona. The successful candidate must have a desire to work within an IB environment and have a thorough understanding of inquiry-based pedagogy and how to teach for conceptual understanding.
In this role, you will be responsible for transdisciplinary teaching that includes Unit of Inquiry, Language, Maths and one single-subject teaching that may include Visual Arts, Music, PE, or another subject, in composite classes consisting of two combined year groups. Experience in Differentiated Instruction and Personalised learning is desirable.
Additional duties include:
Collaborative Unit Planning/meetings
Creating/Utilising varied forms of formative and summative assessments to inform teaching and learning
Develop and maintain a positive learning environment
Being professional in your conduct towards students, colleagues and other stakeholders
A commitment to improve the teaching and learning of a diverse and inclusive community of students
Person Specification:
IB PYP experience is ideal however, a desire to work in an IB environment is a must
Must have a teaching degree or similar
Proactive team player in a new and growing IB school
Lifelong learner and internationally-minded
