The DSR team
The DSR team is a cross functional team consisting of data scientists, data engineers, machine learning and ML Ops engineers, with team members in both Gothenburg and Athens. The roles in the team span across Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, Data Engineers and ML Ops Engineers and they work in close collaboration with the IT Dev teams.
The core of the technical platform, the Internet Booking Engine, serves price comparison sites and customers with attractive travel options retrieved from centralized flight marketplaces. Every minute, 120 million travel options are automatically assessed, compiled, and re-priced. Intense data analysis, price optimization, and configuration automation is crucial. Etraveli Group’s data stock with searches, order, and tactical competition analysis is impressive and still growing rapidly in dimensions and volume.
The role
As a Python Developer you will design, prototype, refine and maintain applications around machine learning models for price and conversion optimization. You will work closely with Data Scientists and ML Engineers and support feature engineering, modelling and model serving. In addition to this you will focus on improving tracking and visualization of models, data, and experiments together with the team towards stakeholders and business users. Together with your colleagues and our developers you will plan, communicate and share status updates creating synergies and using best practice to evolve our ML platform.

Main responsibilities:
Design and implement applications around machine learning models for pricing, conversion and revenue
Refine and maintain existing services and automated pipelines that run, monitor, and retrain machine learning models
Optimize and create new data integrations both for input and output together with Data Engineers and core engine backend developers
Select, evaluate and integrate industry leading systems, applications and tooling that are required for the ML projects, ensuring scalability, performance and maintainability.
Your background
Minimum qualifications:
5+ years of experience with Python application development
Knowledge in web frameworks for building APIs in Python such as Flask or FastAPI
Experience in working with databases such as MySQL, Singlestore or Hadoop
Experience with Git, Docker and Kubernetes
Exposure to machine learning concepts and frameworks (feature engineering, semi-supervised models, and time series prediction) with interest in learning more.
Meritorious:
A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
Experience with event streaming platforms such as Kafka and data serialisation systems such as Avro
Knowledge in scientific computing and visualization in Python (i.e. SciPy, NumPy)
Experience with machine learning lifecycle platforms (MLflow / Kubeflow)
Experience with continuous integration and delivery (Jenkins)
Experience with logging and applications health dashboards (i.e. by Elasticsearch, Grafana and Kinana)
