Avalanche Studios in Stockholm is looking for a bright, enthusiastic and motivated Quality Assurance Engineer to work on the development of one of our upcoming self published projects.
The Position
You will be centered in the Stockholm QA & Dev team and will be working closely with many different people within the different development disciplines. The ability to help scope game features, analyze & solve problems, create test plans, execute daily testing, and communicate clearly is imperative.
Your main tasks will be to perform functional and qualitative testing of gameplay mechanics & features at multiple stages of implementation such as prototype, in-progress and final, as well as write and execute test cases. It will be your responsibility to report all issues in a bug tracking tool, and you will be expected to have the knowledge and ability to write bugs to a high standard. You are proactive and can constructively communicate concerns, and work within deadlines. Actively promoting testing, build reliability & content quality within development is key.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of professional QA experience from the Video Games Industry
- Experience from working as embedded QA within a dev team
- Console and PC testing experience
- Experience of working with bug tracking/reporting software
- Excellent English (written and verbal), ability to describe complex information in a precise and detailed manner
- High social skills and great at communication
- Positive ways of identifying issues, communicating their impact and helping create test plans to minimise future issues
Desired Qualifications
- Education in fields related to games or/and testing/analysis/problem solving
- Experience with debugging software and software crash outputs
- Knowledge of current gen technologies
- Understanding of the development life cycle throughout
- Proactive, confident in time allocating, planning and solution driven
- Experience of working closely with production and various disciplines to plan and schedule testing around various requirements
