We are growing our app team and are currently looking for an experienced QA Engineer to join our team working with the Volvo Cars app. You’ll be joining a team that values honesty, integrity, trust and thinks that work should be both challenging and fun. We are a group of skilled people, currently engaged in agile product development for the Volvo Cars app. The team is located in Gothenburg, Stockholm and Lund, Sweden. We also interact with teams in San Francisco US and in Shanghai China. Many of the people you will be working with have experience from start-ups and global tech companies such as Spotify, Google, Sony, Ericsson, Microsoft, Tradera, Klarna, EA Games etc.
What you’ll do
As a QA Engineer you will work in of our product teams that's working with electrification and be responsible for the verification of the mobile app and its communication with the car, specifically related to charging and battery status. Your main task will be to use the car and the app to verify the product, both for new features and regression testing. You will be expected to drive and evolve the in-car test area and create test plans for the app and document this and the test results. You'll be working with the team on a daily basis being part of daily stand-ups. You will make sure that new features are easily testable and spread the quality mindset and testing best practices. You will also be a quality advocate and represent the user in discussions to make sure that features are not only stable, performant and bug free, but also work QA Engineer - Electrification 2 smoothly in real conditions.
You and your skills
You are passionate about good quality. You're thorough, driven and likes to get to the bottom of things. You have probably led testing efforts before, either formally or informally, and feel comfortable driving test activities. You are technical in the sense that you are able to get logs from the car and from the phone and be able to parse them to further debug and pinpoint problems. You can build and install the mobile app (Android and iOS). There's no requirement on being able to code, but it is a bonus if you have experience coding. Last, but not least, since this will involve a lot of testing in cars, you well need a valid drivers licence.
