QA tester - Victoria 3

As a member of the QA team at PDS Red, you will help us deliver the best possible games by testing our Grand Strategy titles in various stages of development. As an Embedded QA Tester for Victoria 3, you will be working as part of the development team and provide valuable data and breakdowns on all aspects of the game.


About the role
Your role would encompass a wide range of QA responsibilities, including but not limited to traditional bug-testing duties, analyzing the quality of the game from a player’s perspective, and support the developers by providing feedback on game design choices, and assessing the general playability and fun factor of the game.
Day-to-day work will involve working closely with outsourced test partners, maintaining bug databases, playtesting and collaborating with the wider team. This will require strong interpersonal skills, to be able to nurture relationships with the developers, and communicate feedback that is constructive and relevant. In addition, you are expected to create and execute test plans tailored for specific content, based on documentation from developers & QA.

Responsibilities
Help create effective strategies around testing all aspects of Victoria 3
Help create & maintain test cases in collaboration with the QA Lead
Identify and report issues in our Bug Tracking Database according to internal standards
Assist in managing the Bug Tracking Database to ensure it reflects the most current state of the product
Provide a wide range of feedback to developers around the product at every step in development



Requirements
Experience working in Quality Assurance, ideally on games or other entertainment software
Experience in or high level of knowledge of the entire game development cycle
Proficiency with bug reporting tools such as Mantis or JIRA
Strong skills in reflecting on and reviewing all design-related information and interpreting areas of risk in testing
Fluent in English (spoken and written)

Nice-to-haves
Experience playing Paradox Grand Strategy titles
