Quality Assurance Engineer (Android)

We are looking for a QA Engineer who has the curiosity and drive to join our Android team. You will be testing our product on a wide range of Android devices, from the latest and greatest to cheaper phones with small screens. We are constantly pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved given the user’s network and device capabilities, and you will help us ensure that the user gets the best possible browsing experience.
Our organization is flat and we work in tight-knit and iterative processes between product managers, designers, developers and quality assurance engineers. We do code reviews as well as privacy and security reviews to bring the quality of our products to the next level. As a consumer-oriented company, the input from our end users is highly valued. We monitor their feedback closely and improve the product to fit their needs.
This kind of agile workflow requires people with an autonomous working style, who take their own initiatives to improve systems and processes. A high quality product also requires people with a good sense of usability and attention to detail. However, we don’t expect a single team member to possess all of these skills. Instead, we’re looking for dedicated co-workers who are eager to contribute and grow both technically and personally. We believe in skill, not certification. While a good understanding of computer science is a must, titles and diplomas play no role at Opera.
Moreover, work-life balance is important to us, and we know that people are creative at different times of the day. You can choose to start early or work late, as long as you are available to your colleagues either at home or in the office during core hours which are between 10 am - 3 pm.
