Quality Control Technician (Mechanical Lab)
The Quality Control team at Northvolt Labs, Västerås (Sweden) is looking for a passionate, enthusiastic and hardworking Quality Control technician with mechanical background to join their team. You will be working on various quality control analysis and tests of battery materials, both covering process quality controls and incoming quality control inspections. You will be part of a young, dynamic and friendly team! You will be trained to independently analyse and report analyses results using advanced instruments and equipment in the QC laboratory, learn about the manufacturing process of battery materials and cells and gain knowledge and experience as well as be involved in the method development and validation of QC analyses and troubleshooting/maintenance of advance instruments. We believe you have studied materials science, mechanical engineering or any other related degree including have previous experience working in a laboratory, and are interested in a hands-on career in an quality control laboratory as well as as a person are curious about the world of quality.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Execute work instructions accurately and follow protocol.
Understand and execute the testing plans for material, incoming parts, product intermediates and finalized products.
Organize test results in the expected template and/or LIMS system.
Be able to troubleshoot basic instrument problems; utilizing the help of senior personnel for more major issues.
Understand the fundamentals of method development and validation and participate in the execution side.
Perform testing with measuring instruments and report data/results as instructed.
Execute method improvement plans for the different measurements and be able to write standard procedure operations.
Maintain the instruments to a high standard.

Skills & Requirements
Qualifications/education/experience
Bachelor´s degree (or technical school degree) in a technical field.
Must-have laboratory experience
Previous work experience in quality control, quality assurance or an analytical laboratory is a plus.
Hands-on experience using following equipment is a plus: SEM/EDX, CT, CMM, tensile testing, mechanical sample preparation (cutting, grinding, polishing).
Specific knowledge of quality management systems, e.g. ISO 9001, IATF16949, TQM is a plus.
Familiar with Lean, Six Sigma and 5S concepts, as well as SPC, FMEA, Quality troubleshooting tools and problem-solving methodology is a plus.
Curious, technically educated and preferably with a strong business background.
