Who are we?
Volvo Cars is a company on a mission; to bring traditional car manufacturing into a connected, sustainable and smart future.
In 2010, we decided to transform our business, resulting in a totally new generation of cars and technologies, as well as steady growth and record sales.
We are constantly pushing our own skills and abilities to drive change in the automobile industry like never before. We believe in the power of people and will challenge and support you to reach your full potential. Join us and be part of Volvo Cars’ journey into the future.
What’s in it for you?
This role is within our Global Online Experience Cluster, which is using digital technologies to reinvent the experience of becoming a Volvo customer. There is no reason the experience of buying a car should be painful and difficult – it should be as enjoyable and exciting as actually having a new car. That is our mission. We build the end-to-end experience for online sales/subscriptions of cars, global campaigns as well as frameworks for other parts of Volvo Cars.
Your responsibilities will include rapid development of prototypes/concepts, and regular product development within the Quality Engineering department. You should have start-up experience where you have quickly developed prototypes and catalyzed product development in a fast-paced, fluid environment. You are a hands-on test automation developer who loves Quality Engineering. You are experienced with agile development and a champion of software development standard methodologies.
What You’ll Do:
As a QA Engineer, you will work with our product team that develops and maintains an in-house-built software that enables Workshop planning and provides Repair/Maintenance information and its communication with the car. Your main task will be to test this software both for new features and regression testing. You will be expected to drive the functional testing in this area and create test plans for the app and document this and the test results. You will make sure that new features are easily testable and spread the quality mindset and testing best practices. You will also be a quality advocate and represent the user in discussions to make sure that features are stable, performant, and bug-free.
• You will be part of one of the product teams and work closely with product owners, developers, business analysts, and other QA Engineers.
• You try to get a holistic overview of the explicit requirements but as well dig a bit deeper and ask the right (or wrong) questions to surface the hidden requirements and edge cases.
• You work to develop both automated and manual test cases for both functional and non-functional requirements.
• You will examine the functional and non-functional requirements, end-to-end processes to create test cases, and suites (ideally automated) for different kinds of testing – functional, system, API, etc.
• You will be testing the features and products during different stages to ensure the quality of the product before its launched to the customers.
• You will take part in different kinds of testing – SIT (System Integration Tests), UAT (User Acceptance Tests), API testing.
• You will help and provide inputs to develop test strategies and practices.
• You will collaborate with the DevOps team and engineers to both understand the CI/CD pipeline and incorporate testing during various stages of the pipeline.
Who you are:
We are looking for you who have prior experience as a Quality Engineer and worked on agile product teams (Preferably in Automotive Industry). You have a solid understanding of QA methodologies, life cycle, and processes. We see that you are comfortable with different types and techniques in functional testing including exploratory, boundary value analysis, and equivalence partitioning. You have a solid understanding of best practices such as TDD, BDD, CI/CD, and the Practical Test Pyramid. Furthermore, you have strong exposure to various test frameworks like Selenium or Webdriverio or Cypress or Protractor, or TestNG. You have experience with Agile, code management, and deployment strategies.
As a person, you have the ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions, deal well with ambiguous/undefined problems; ability to think abstractly. Additionally, you are a good team player with communication skills.
