Quality Engineer and Machining Specialist

Sandvik Construction is a business area within the Sandvik Group providing solutions for virtually any construction industry application encompassing such diverse businesses as surface rock quarrying, tunneling, excavation, demolition, road building, recycling and civil engineering. The range of products includes rock tools, drilling rigs, breakers, bulk-materials handling and crushing and screening machinery.

The Operational Quality Assurance department is part of R&D for stationary crushers within the product area Crushing and Screening, and is a small team of Quality Engineers who work as experts in specific areas.

Key performance areas
As a Quality Engineer and Machining Specialist you give support and training in machining related questions to both internal and external suppliers. You participate as an expert in R&D projects and prototype development, maintain and develop quality documents and perform technical audits at machining suppliers.

The job requires approximately 30 days of travel per year, mainly to suppliers around the world.

Your profile
We are looking for someone who is a technical college graduate or the equivalent. A degree in Mechanical Engineering would be advantageous. You have documented experience in metal cutting processes, especially in turning and milling, and experience of moving machining to suppliers in Best Cost Countries (BCC). You are also knowledgeable about tooling, fixturing and CNC programming, and have good knowledge of 3D design, manual measuring and measuring techniques. Furthermore, knowledge of NDT (non-destructive testing) and experience with heavy machining, casting process, castings, Solid Works CAD software and working in an international environment are all advantageous. Fluent Swedish and English, in both speaking and writing, are required for this position.
