In the project, you will be part of an exciting journey to set the base for Engine Assembly in China and help us develop a future plant with high quality and digitalization.

Your assignment
A project within Scania Industrial Operations has been initiated to develop and implement this hub in China. One part of this project is the Engine Assembly, which includes the engine plant’s building and equipment prepared to produce according to the technical capacity demanded by China market.

We know that success in this team depends on the people in it and we value different perspectives. The project team is growing rapidly with an agile way to make decisions. We have a portfolio of interconnected projects ongoing, which create challenges and opportunities, that are handled in close cooperation within our team.

As Quality Engineer your assignment includes several activities:


• Introduction of Quality Methods to assure the fulfillment of technical requirements,  prevent and solve quality issues using tools such as Risk Analysis, Process Audit, and Problem Solving.
• Work with the project team to implement quality governance models on the shop floor, including quality assessments, root cause analysis teams, and a total quality management structure.
• Act as a project manager to plan, execute and control quality prevention and appraisal processes scope as quality inspection setup, quality tools, equipment purchasing, risk reduction coordination, FMEA, Conformity of Production and legal demands fulfillment, etc.
• Define quality system requirements by working closely with the IT and automation team, enabling the creation, collection, processing, and analysis of data to support quality investigation and decision-making, aligned with Scania's digitalization journey.
• Represent quality in cross-functional forums with areas such as process engineering, R&D, purchasing, and logistics.
• Training team members and operators with Quality Methods

Your profile
You have a University degree in engineering or similar as a base, and have a couple of years of experience as a quality or process engineer or project manager. You have preferably worked in Engine Assembly and you are experienced in Scania Production System.

You prefer to have several projects on the go and you do not only want to follow well-trodden paths; sometimes you prefer to go your own way. You are analytical, and structured, with a hands-on approach. We believe that good cooperation and communication skills are key to being successful in an international context together with cross-functional teams. Your wiliness to continuously develop yourself and your interest in data science will be considered an advantage.

We value your personality as number one and we give you the base for success independent of your previous experiences. We believe that good cooperation and communication skills with people at all levels of an organisation are important. You will work in a global international context together with cross-functional teams, such as R&D and purchasing & IT. Also, we will take advantage of our global production team within Traton.

We seek people with the capability to independently drive activities in the context of a broader team project and with the ability to break down and solve problems that occur along the way.

You speak and write fluent English, Mandarin and Swedish language skills are an advantage.

Your location
The China project team (TC) is currently based in Södertalje. However, flexible work location may be applied to reflect the competencies needed and deliveries in the project. A shorter or longer period in China or a relocation must be considered.
