About the role

To our production office in Shanghai, we are looking for you who want to be part of the team where we develop & source Clas Ohlson's products under our own brand to create a unique position in the market.

You ensure the safety and quality of Clas Ohlson products. Lead and develop the quality department. Develop business and people together with the Clas Ohlson Company and Customer in mind.

Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities

- Ensure product function, safety, and legal requirements for all the sourced products are fulfilled, and ensure they are following our sustainability framework, by ensuring right methods and ways of working are in place
- Responsible to lead and develop the quality and compliance agenda and team of Product engineers, Supplier developers, Auditors and QC
- Develop business and people together, secure learning in the business and encourage entrepreneurial behaviors, be responsible for recruitment, competence development and introduction of new employees
- Constantly monitor Customer feedback and quality performance on product, supplier, and processes. Define, Create, and Implement solutions and ways of working for improved quality and reduced Cost of Poor Quality. Identify root causes for claims and quality problems, to implement corrective and preventive actions
- Working closely with quality and compliance organization in Sweden, securing that strategies and standards are aligned, equally understood, and applied.
- Develop and strengthen quality and compliance awareness and customer knowledge within the production office and supplier base
- Build and establish a customer quality focused supplier base. Ensure total supplier base meets the Clas Ohlson minimum quality standard. Drive and assist “strategic” suppliers in making long-lasting improvements in their performance in terms of quality, process efficiency (incl. Automation) and flexibility, organizational set-up.
- Develop strategies, governance, and standard work to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement in supplier sourcing and performance. Driving actions and activities that secures right quality and compliance through a proactive/preventive approach (doing right at start) vs a reactive/corrective approach


Who are you?

- Noncompromising Customer focused quality approach in terms of health and safety in product and production.
- Strong leadership ability. Mentoring and coaching capability to grow the team competences. Has the ability to positively influence others
- Understand the quality and legal requirements, standards and customer needs in the EU and Nordic market
- Having the ability to create relationships with internal stakeholders across multiple functions (in Sourcing, Product development, CSR and Head office, etc…). Ensuring a One Clas Ohlson team approach and way of working
- Self-motivated, proactive team player and able to operate under pressure
- Have experiences about new supplier start-up and development
- Industry, production and product knowledge/awareness (Home, DIY, Leisure, Electrical, and Multimedia)
- Has a result driven constant improvement mindset and way of working. Who dares to challenge the status quo and not afraid of failure. Constantly look for opportunities and take actions to develop ways of working, team, supplier base and product offer to ensure happy customers


- You hold university degree certification in quality management or equivalent competence
- 3-5 years leadership experience in a management position (preferable sourcing office or manufacturing)
- At least 5 years’ experience in quality/compliance (experience in sustainability is a plus)
- Experience of TQM, Lean, 6 Sigma, etc would be an advantage.


Fluent in English communication, both written and spoken.
