Quantitative Clinical Pharmacologist/Pharmacometrician

This is an opportunity for a talented and engaged individual to join our growing Clinical Pharmacology and Quantitative Pharmacology team at AstraZeneca in Gothenburg and develop as a Clinical Pharmacologist/Pharmacometrician supporting large and small molecule projects across full development within the therapy area of Respiratory & Immunology.

What you'll do:
You will work closely with physicians, statisticians and other scientists and will apply your knowledge of clinical pharmacology and quantitative methods to support the development of our medicines throughout clinical development through approval and beyond. This will include contributing to design, conduct and interpretation of clinical studies and programmes, the development and execution of clinical pharmacology and pharmacometrics plans, regulatory interactions and submissions and influencing key project decisions in early and late clinical development. You will communicate your work to other scientists within and outside of AstraZeneca and publish them in peer reviewed journals.

Essential for the role:

* Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD or equivalent) in quantitative clinical pharmacology or associated life/quantitative science
* Background and an understanding of clinical pharmacology aspects of drug development, preferably in both the small and large molecule setting with 3-6 years industrial or equivalent experience in a clinical pharmacology setting
* Working knowledge of pharmacokinetics and its clinical application
* Quantitative modelling skills, including clinical PK analysis such non-compartmental methods, and PK/PD modelling and simulation
* Experience with PK/PD analysis and statistical (pharmacometrician) tools such as Phoenix Winnonlin, Nonmem, R
* Biological understanding of disease and drug action
* Good oral and written communication skills

Desirable for the role:

* Recognized scientific expertise demonstrated by scientific publishing in the field of clinical pharmacology
* Experience of regulatory interactions including INDs, NDA/BLA/MAA a plus.
* Working knowledge of Model-Informed Drug Discovery and Development
