Quantity Surveyor
H2 Green Steel has an exciting job offer for a Quantity Surveyor to join our bold and passionate construction team in Boden/Sweden.
In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in building one of the worlds largest hydrogen factories and you will be part of writing the history of a new era for a sustainable ecosystem for fossil free steel making.
The Quantity Surveyor will be in charge of estimating and negotiating change orders throughout the construction lifecycle. You will reviewing contractor and subcontractor pricing and leading negotiations to drive fair contract prices as well as provide estimate and cost planning.
You will be working intimately with the construction team and you will report to our commercial manager.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Estimating and negotiating change orders throughout the construction lifecycle.
Reviewing contractor and subcontractor pricing and leading negotiations to drive fair contract prices.
Provide estimate and cost planning to include producing and presenting the final cost plan.
Review and participate with the design services team and contractor, in the development of the cost estimates.
Reconcile changes and assist the contractors to ensure that their data is accurate.
Communicate or meet with contractors and project managers to gather status information to prepare a cost estimate update.
Prepare written comments to the contractor’s submissions, including the executive summary.
Coordinate all sources of cost information for cost discussions with suppliers directly and with contractors and their sub-contractors.
Inform and drive engineering priorities based on cost impact.
Work proactively with minimal supervision to resolve scheduling issues.
Manage cost checks/auditing and valuation work is managed effectively and that a robust process for cost validation is in place.
Complete timely, accurate cost checking and valuation processes.
Participate effectively with post contract cost variances and the change control processes.
Manage Cost impact/contingency management and commitment tracking logs.
Prepare funding data presentations and coordinate VE sessions with stakeholders.
Contract administration (retention, T&C’s, insurance, contingency, incentives)
Maintain cost benchmarking database.
Manage Change control and negotiate change orders along with construction management throughout the construction lifecycle.
Attend risk meetings and maintain risk log.

Education/Experience
BSC/Msc in Quantity Surveying, Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent
Solid technical experience in all cost management areas, planning, estimating, pre-contract, post contract and final account.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
Excellent communication & presentation skills
Analytical skills
Proficient in MS suite
Passion and enthusiasm for construction and numbers
Must have worked in multi-cultural environment
Preferable knowledge and Experience of Swedish Construction Contract Forms (ABT06, AB04, ABK06...)
Specific Skills/Abilities
Excellent English written and oral skills, Swedish is a plus
