R & D Engineer in Information & Communication

Vattenfall is now looking for the right person to fill the position of R&D Engineer in Information and Communication Technology at Vattenfall Research & Development with location Älvkarleby or Stockholm(Solna).

Vattenfall R&D has group wide responsibility for conducting business driven technical development that supports the companys strategic focus areas. The unit employs approximately 125 people located in Sweden and Denmark. Your responsibilities

We are now looking for an innovative and ambitious individual with a background in IT and project work to strengthen our team of dedicated engineers working to develop new technology in the area of near customer solutions, e.g. smart grids, smart homes, energy management and electrical transportation.

Your responsibilities would include leading and participating in development and demonstration projects as well as offering technical support to our business and product developers. You will be involved in initial business case analyses for new customeroriented energy products and services, pilot tests at the Älvkarleby IT laboratory and in the further functional and technical development until solution implementation.

Your qualifications and personal skills

We think that you have experience of one or more of the following areas; systems development/architecture, information and communication technologies and protocols, IT security, data analytics.

You hold a Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar, preferably with at least a couple of years relevant work experience. Experience from the energy, telecom and/or internet industries is an advantage. Fluency in English is a prerequisite, a good command of Swedish is desirable.

You are analytical, committed and self-driven with good communication and interpersonal skills. You like to work in teams and create networks. The ideal candidate is able to develop rough ideas and ambitions into concrete and successful projects. An inquisitive mindset and a genuine interest in new technology we believe is a necessity for this role.
