Our Exciting Opportunity
This team, the Radio SoC (System-on-chip) systemization team, is heading the systemization of our Radio ASIC/SoC designs within Ericsson. The team is part of the Product development unit radio (PDU Radio), the development unit within Ericsson which is responsible for the development of the radio products. We look for enthusiastic people ready to shape the future of 5G and next generation communication. Our department grows both technology specialists and future leaders.
The radio unit is the entrance into the telecommunication network and is built around the radio System-on-chip solutions, including ASIC’s (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) and FPGA’s (Field-Programmable Gate Array). This team is responsible for the radio systemization of these circuits.
Our assignment stretches from pre-product investigations to the end customer, and our definition of done is when we have delivered to customer with quality.
To achieve the right solutions for our customers we take advantage of the newest technology on the market, including upcoming semiconductor nodes and state of the art RF-IC solutions to achieve cutting-edge solutions.
Now we are looking to strengthen our team with focus on timing and synchronization systemization.
Job Description
Your main responsibility will be the radio systemization of timing and synchronization in our SoC designs
The work includes, but is not limited to:
Drive the Timing and Synchronization systemization for our SoC solutions (Including the radio ASIC’s)
Participate in the network level timing and synchronization solution studies, and follow the ongoing standardizations
Participate or drive radio product clock distribution studies, and identify the impacts for the radio SoC solutions
Participate, or drive, pre product studies and projects
In the projects drive for timely systemization decisions within the area
Create, set and document requirements for our System-on-chip designs to enable a best-in-class implementation
Work closely with related design areas such as software and analogue radio and other system teams
We are working with an end-to-end mentality: strong support to design and validation teams are considered as success factors
Position Qualifications
A master’s degree, or PhD, in electrical engineering, engineering physics or similar work experience
5+ years in Design & Development or system roles
Familiar with IEEE 1588 precise timing protocol (PTP) and synchronous Ethernet (SyncE)
Service minded and self-motivated, with the drive to solve problems and expand ones’ knowledge
Have a creative and innovative mentality
Take accountability, together with the team, for our assignments
Result-oriented and excellent interpersonal skills.
Always look for ways to improve the work
Fluent in English.
In addition to this, skills that carry merit include:
Experience working in requirement setting and standardization
Leadership within radio product development
Experience from radio development
Experience in PCB design
RAN knowledge
Experience of radio function systemization and control software
Knowledge of radio system architecture and 3GPP Radio standardization
