Our Exciting Opportunity
Product Development Unit Radio (PDU Radio) drives end-to-end research and development of Ericsson’s radio products and solutions. We are a global organization, within Development Unit Networks (DNEW) collaborating across sites in Sweden, Canada and China to drive Ericsson’s strategy towards leadership in 5G. In PDU Radio Lund we are busy creating world leading solutions for Ericsson's high band 5G portfolio.

We are now looking for an experienced, motivated and creative Chief Engineer to join our growing Radio Systems Team. As a Chief Engineer you will play an integral role in the overall success of our development projects. You will be part of the project core team and have the overall technical responsibility for decisions on the implementation of the design.

You will work with a wide network of senior designers, specialists and partners across the global radio development organization. You will be involved in solving technical challenges and develop innovative new technologies for our world leading Radio Products. The right person for this task understands the big picture, has a detailed strong drive and a pragmatic way of dealing with all types of challenges.

You will belong to the System design organization where you will join a motivated team of experienced system engineers that drives the definition, systemization and development of innovative radio units for the next generation of integrated multi-antenna radio systems. We are involved from early technology definition through the product lifetime and we are passionate about finding new ways and solutions to improve the mobile system for operators and users.

You will
Be responsible for the solution implementation for the total radio product, hardware, (HW) as well as software (SW)
Take decisions regarding the technology selection and technical implementation in the product together with other technical leaders
Ensure agreement with main technical coordinator, technical leaders and Strategic Product Management on requirements statement of compliance, exemptions and deviations
Drive teams for solving challenging problems in the project
Coach and develop junior engineers from different teams across Ericsson
Report to Manager of Product Systems


To be successful in the role you must have
An education as MSc or equivalent
Approximately 10 years of experience
Experience from leading technical roles in product development including HW and SW
Experience from System design
Domain experience as of Ericsson R&D in general and Radio development in particular
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills and a good relationship builder
Excellent written and oral communications skills in English
Coaching & Mentoring Skills
Business Understanding and Customer Insight
