Our Exciting Opportunity:
Our Network Simulations Section is part of the PDU Radio System & Technology department (RST) and contributes to the product definition and network evolution processes inside Ericsson.
We at the Network Simulations section are responsible for performing radio system level simulations in early phase when developing multi-standard Radio products. This includes early concept evaluations, driving concept studies, network data generation and analysis, and securing characteristics through involvement in the product development and testing phases. The section also contributes in the 3GPP RAN4 standardization and regulatory spectrum standardization.
As a System Engineer within the Network Simulations section, you will be responsible for defining and evaluating the radio performance characteristics and requirements of our products through link and system simulations. The performance evaluations will contribute internally for product development as well as externally for 3GPP and spectrum standardization activities. You will actively contribute for network evolution into the upcoming technology generations 5G, 6G, etc., and act as an interface to Product Management. The work also includes link/system simulators and algorithm development for 3GPP LTE Advanced, 5G NR (New Radio) wireless technologies and the future 6G.
You will:
– MSc or PhD degree in Wireless Communications, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Computer Science, or similar technical field
– Excellent English Skills both verbally and in writing
– Min. 4 years of work experience in radio system design, both HW and SW development
– Experience in LTE and 5G NR development
– Experience in system and/or link level simulation within radio base station development (not mandatory, but strongly desired)
– Experience with the following programming languages: MATLAB, Python, R, SQL
– Knowledge of data-driven analysis and AI/ML
– Strong analytical skills to be used in problem-solving
– Teamwork and communication skills
