The Infrastructure Directorate at the European Spallation Source (ESS) in Lund, Sweden, invites applications for a Radioactive Waste Manager (RWM).
Description of directorate/division
The Environment, Safety & Health Division within the Infrastructure Directorate is responsible of the activities connected to safety (radiology, dosimetry, occupational safety, fire protection, emissions) for the personnel as well as to the public. We are also planning for the future handling of the radioactive waste.
Description of main responsibilities
The RWM will be a part of the Environment, Safety & Health Divisions (ESH) as being the expert at ESS of the radioactive waste produced at the facility and how to handle it.
The RWM will be responsible for the future contracts with supporting contractors of the rad waste handling. The RWM will support the ESH division in their contacts and reporting to the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority.
Qualifications
We believe you have at least 10 years working experience, with at least five of those years in the field of radioactive waste handling. You have a general understanding of Swedish and international legislation of Radioactive Waste. Furthermore you have management experience and/or project management experience and you are used in performing analyses.
You work in a systematic way, have good organisational and report writing skills. Have good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Your English skills are a prerequisite; knowledge of other European languages would be an advantage.
The position is permanent with six months initial probationary period. Your work place will be situated in Lund, Sweden.
