About this opportunity
The NSV Products & Production Architecture (PPA) systems team is responsible for 5G product definition, evolution, delivery and systems-level support. The broad range of responsibilities covers the RAN solution built from products in the Ericsson Radio System; including RAN compute central and distributed baseband units, radios, interconnect, transport and RAN functions to ensure that we have the SW and HW architectures vital to realize Ericsson's long term strategic direction. The NSV PPA responsibility also covers the systemization of the RAN SW production architecture.
We are looking for a RAN system architect with a proven background in mobile network system development to join our RAN Architecture team. The job will involve proposing architectural solutions to deliver the next generation of Ericsson radio access network solutions, covering both cloud based and purpose built network components. Work products include study items, technical reports, design estimates, requirements, problem resolution reports, pre-development, capacity analysis and input to test and software production strategies. The role also includes regular contact with product management, to understand customer requirements and propose solutions enabling our products to be future proof for 5G and beyond!
What you will do
Drive technical studies and investigations, contribute to the evolution of the Ericsson RAN system offering
Participate in the creation of development plans, and strategies for hardware and software platforms
Lead development of solutions to unlock maximum system capacity and performance
Support Ericsson customer facing units in understanding of operator current & future system requirements
Contribute in development of Intellectual Property
You will bring
Master / Bachelor of Science or equivalent, with related work experience
Demonstrated ability in systems specification in the telecommunication field or related experience
Experience in crafting and delivering radio access network architectural solutions
RAN system architecture design experience, preferably within L1-L3 system domains such as baseband or traffic control
Ability to work in teams. Experience working in multi-site, multi-cultural work groups
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to deal with uncertainty
Asset Skills or Experience
Practical understanding of standards specifications with relation to RAN, such as 3GPP and/or O-RAN
Experience of implementing, supporting and fixing large scale systems in a fast-paced commercial environment, resolve issues or bring up in a concise manner
An ideal candidate would be a self-starter, detailed, organized, analytical as well as practical, with interpersonal soft skills enabling collaborative work with the broader system, design, business and integration/verification teams
