Product Development Platforms is a business unit within IKEA of Sweden that has the assignment to contribute to a richer and smarter product offer by providing a head start in Product development. We identify, develop and deploy platforms which span across multiple range and product segments such as storage and comfort platforms, finding scale advantages and lowering costs significantly. These are savings we can pass on to the customer. Platforms are also a key enabler for reaching our sustainability goals outlined in our IKEA direction.
The PDP Range Engineering Leader for textile is an interesting job with a mix of operational hands-on leading innovation projects and strategic setting the future portfolio for textile. Your assignment is to lead the planning of innovative solutions for the complete Textile platform portfolio, working together with the textile team and Platform management team. You do this by utilizing the full potential of the network in our value chain, ensuring that all solutions deliver to set objectives and goals in connection to strategies and business plans. The other important part and the biggest share of the job is to lead innovative platform projects together with the textile team.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Interpret strategies & insights and contribute to the portfolio plan
• Plan projects of innovative solutions and new materials
• Identify and brief gaps in technology areas based on sustainability mapping and more
• Contribute to Project Scope and brief projects
• Follow up and act on deviations
• Deployment of material and innovations contributing to a more sustainable offer
As a Range Engineering Leader leading projects:
• Project leading innovation platform projects
• Deliver according to set goals and scope
• Use your creativity to find better solutions or better ways of working
