Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
The Global Outbound Process is part of Scania Logistics. We have the responsibility to secure that our customers, no matter their location on the globe, receive their products on time through a multi modal, efficient and sustainable network by utilizing alternative fuels and smart logistics. Being the ones handing over the Scania products to our customers, we are operating in the dynamic interface between production and market. We are in a period of exciting challenges as we are implementing a new work structure and a new outbound system aiming for sustainability and cost efficiency throughout the entire delivery chain. The Rate manager has an important role in making our new system a successful part of our journey towards excellence in Outbound Logistics.
The outbound engineering team is responsible for:
• serving our customers with the best possible delivery precision and information
• setting up efficient and robust top quality transport flows with sufficient capacity from our final assembly units to distributors, dealers and bodybuilders around the world
• supporting the operational delivery functions with forecasting, supplier development, tools and methods to perform a good job delivering our finished products to our customers
• outbound controlling matters, invoicing forecast and follow up
• quality and IT system development
We have daily cooperation with General purchasing, corporate insurance, export teams, delivery functions and our carriers.
The position
As Rate manager, you are responsible for the pricing structure in our new Outbound system, SIRIUS. You will have a central role in managing the operational rates for all our carriers and liners where main tasks will be:
• Develop and maintain the outbound rate process from initiation and booking to final payment.
• Support to involved Carriers and Liners with regards to the Outbound Rate process.
• Generate reports and follow up KPIs connected to the rate handling process.
• Operational responsibility for all outbound rates including follow up, correction and problem solving connected to invoices and Self billing for the Outbound process.
• Outbound price management is an important area of responsibility for this role and include the preparation of the commercial arrangement between Global outbound Logistics and Sales & Marketing.
Your profile
We are looking for a committed and responsible person willing to work in close cooperation with other organizations, building good relations within the international outbound team as well as with our suppliers.
Dedication for details while understanding the context are important capabilities for our future Rate manager. You are also interested in process and IT-system development. You probably have an academic degree and knowledge in the transport sector. Experience from the outbound process and/or the order-to-delivery-process at Scania are advantages.
You are fluent in the Swedish and English language, both written and spoken. Deep knowledge in Excel is required in this role and it is a clear advantage if you can use Power BI or similar tools.
We believe you have analytical skills to solve operational problems without losing sight of long-term strategies. You are communicative, structured and have the ability to focus on the most important tasks in a dynamic environment.
