Manager Reception of Raw Materials for Outokumpu in Avesta

In this role, you are responsible for running and developing the reception, testing, and handling of raw materials used in the production of our stainless-steel products that we ship across the world. The role also includes coordinating transports of scrap metal between departments on-site. The Raw Material Reception Team consists of 8 dedicated employees that together form the first line of our production.
This position is the contact point for other process groups as well, supporting the development of processes and relations between groups and the company as a whole. You will work together with the Raw Material Manager to set and achieve goals, in near-term and longer-term improvement projects.

Main responsibilities include;
Manage reception and testing teams by e.g. coaching and performance calls, work division, conducting meetings, and more
Plan and implement SBOs
Abide by and actively work to improve OTK’s safety protocols and regulations
Write new and update older instructions and SOPs
Order maintenance work and service for equipment and supplies for the department
Participate and run improvement projects related to Raw Materials and Melt shop
Operational work such as being responsible for ‘lime’ and local fire protection manager, temporary efforts at the reception, etc.


About you
We are looking for a knowledgeable leader who knows the way around inspiring employees to achieve acute goals while working to improve long-term processes and reach higher targets. We attach great importance to your personal qualities, but we also wish for a basic understanding of the raw materials used in manufacturing stainless steel. You also have natural alertness around safety and a willingness to improve.
High school competency, preferably supplemented with higher education credits in metallurgy and materials knowledge, and/or relevant work experience
Leadership experience with a “leading by example”-mindset
Knowledge of relevant operational IT systems
Strong ability to cooperate and communicate, prioritize and delegate
Inspired and driven by improvement – personal and professional.
Knowing 5S and its applications is a plus
Driving license (B)
