Raw Material Demand Planner/Category Manager

Outokumpu is looking for a Raw Material Demand Planner/Category Manager to join our Raw Material Procurement team.

As a Raw Material Demand Planner/Category Manager, you will have an opportunity to work with us in the Group-wide lean and agile Raw Materials Procurement organization. Raw Materials procurement is based on global category management for key materials, sourcing of local categories and local mill level demand planning and inventory management. Our main task is to serve steel melting shops with the necessary raw materials and raw material-type bulk supplies at the right time at best value-in-use.

This role will be based in Avesta with some degree of international travel requirements. In this role, you will report to the Head of Raw Material Procurement Europe.

Main responsibilities

Raw Material Demand planner responsibilities
Site specific Raw Material (RM) demand planning
Information and calculation parameters updates to Demand planning tool
Development and training for stakeholders of Raw Material Optimization tool
Share purchase needs with Category Managers
Support other BA Europe melt shop’s RM demand calculations during the holidays and other absences


Category manager responsibilities
Collect and analyse spend and market data to develop and execute category strategies
Develop and deliver category action plans and procurement projects to ensure that savings and efficiencies are achieved
Develop and manage relationships with suppliers
Proactively manage site specific demands and requirements
Execute supplier evaluations and development commitments and collaborate closely with supplier sustainability manager
Identify supply base, planning and preparing buying tactics
Negotiate agreements with suppliers to ensure the best ratio of quality/time/cost/risk to Outokumpu within assigned categories
Communicate new contracts and changes in the process to operations
Ensure successful implementation of agreements
Control of stock levels
Co-operation with Group’s Category Managers and support them with Purchase Orders entry into SAP and arrival planning


Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business or technology
+2 years of experience in procurement or strategic sourcing - preferably in steel industry
Experience of collecting and analysing spend and market data in support of procurement strategies
Advanced skills in managing supplier relationships and conducting negotiations
Advanced project management skills
Experience of SAP ERP system
Fluent in English and Swedish, other language skills are an advantage
