About the role
In the role of Raw Material Specialist, you are mainly responsible for the planning and management of high-nickel scrap in the Meltshop. You make sure that the quality of materials and the raw-material flow is optimized. You create and keep good relations both inside the organisation and with external suppliers. The Raw Material Team and consists of 6 Specialists and 1 Developer. Your team also works closely together with 8 Samplers.

Main responsibilities include:
Planning transport and ordering deliveries of raw materials and supplies
Handling of deliveries of raw materials on site in Avesta
Responsibility for sampling scrap metals and quality reporting between Outokumpu sites
Calculation and reporting of results of received materials to the supplier
Overall management of recycled metal from waste
Support and work together with other specialists in the department
Conduct year-end work and raw-material inventories
Manage projects, drive continuous improvement projects, lead root-cause analysis, and more


About you
We attach great importance to your personal qualities and we are looking for you who have a natural inclination for calculations, analysis, and of course an interest in metals. You prefer working in teams and are a good communicator. You are a forward-thinking person who gets things done and can run your tasks independently. You are an experienced IT-user with zest for precise improvements and inherently structured ways of working. You hold a positive outlook and skills of reasoning in addition to:
University education in relevant fields e.g. Supply Chain, Economics, Material Science or equivalent experience
Multiple years of work experience in the steel industry and with raw materials
Experience in project management or participation in development projects
Swedish and English fluency in speech and writing
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office for analysis and presentation of data
Experienced IT-user
Previous experience working with continuous improvement
