At ABB Robotics we have several R&D sites globally, and at the site in Västerås, all R&D engineering disciplines are represented, from software- to electronics- and mechanical development. Here we are developing next generation industrial and collaborative robots in close cooperation with our customers in a global environment.
We are now looking for a suitable candidate to take on the role of Line Manager for the department of Mechanical development. In this role you will lead the department where one of the main responsibilities will be supporting the team’s constant strive for increased customer value in terms of developing new robot models and support design changes in launched products, both from a product development perspective as well as organizational perspective. Your responsibilities
Lead the department in terms of budgeting, resource planning, competence strategy and recruitments.
Responsible for the work environment - focusing on health and safety and employee well-being.
Coaching and developing employees and building high-performing teams
Support and participate in our product development process and strategic work for next generation industrial and collaborative robots.
Driving innovation activities and future technology scouting as an integral part of daily work for the teams
Managing close cooperation with internal stakeholders and customer representatives.
Promote external collaboration with e.g. academia and research centers

Your background
M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics & Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.
+5 years of work experience within the relevant field. Previous managerial experience is meritorious as well as experience in change management.
Preferably experience from working in a global context as well as interest in automation and sustainability solutions.
We value profiles that act responsible, are curious and have a strong drive. But most importantly, we believe in having fun at work and as a team player we hope you have great social skills and an easy-going attitude.
English and Swedish, written and spoken alike, is highly preferable.
